National Volunteer Week 2026: Your Year to Volunteer

From April 19–25, 2026
, Animal Health Canada (AHC) recognizes National Volunteer Week and the individuals whose expertise and dedication drive our work forward.

Across AHC, contributors play a vital role through committees, working groups, and sub-working groups. Their collective efforts are advancing animal health and welfare in Canada and strengthening a veterinary profession that continues to adapt and evolve.

We thank all those who contribute their time and knowledge to animal health and welfare in Canada. If that’s you, we want to assure you that your impact is felt across the sector and into the future.

Your Year to Volunteer

National Volunteer Week 2026 aligns with the United Nations’ International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development and Canada’s Ignite Volunteerism initiative, which is a year-long effort to celebrate and strengthen civic participation.

With volunteerism shifting in a post-pandemic landscape, this year is an opportunity to re-engage, recognize contributions, and inspire new ways to get involved.
